The problem with our media ecosystem

It's lying to us and killing us.

Few people remember or know that way back (not that long ago) before the Russian invasion of Ukraine major media outlets reported on the problem of Ukrainian neo-Nazi nationalists radicalizing Ukrainian politics. This was openly reported and discussed in corporate media.

But after the Russian invasion, this reporting became taboo. It no longer served the foreign policy interests of our militarized fascist corporate state. Russia became wholly responsible for “the entirely unprovoked invasion” of Ukraine. And those who continued to report otherwise were blacklisted from corporate media content.

This same pattern holds true for the Gaza genocide and the War Against Iran. In fact, it holds true for the past 25 years of Terror Wars. The point is that corporate media is entirely loyal to the War Machine and its agenda of endless war. This most definitely includes legacy media like the NYT and WaPo.

The most blatant and egregious example of course is the Gaza genocide. Here the problem was not that corporate media stopped reporting the facts to serve the interests of US/ Israeli propaganda- it had never reported the facts, but that it continued even in the face of a live-streamed genocide to deny the genocide and the history behind the genocide. This was and is blatant lying in real time on the subject of genocide despite massive and irrefutable evidence to the contrary.

So, all the above is simply to say the corporate media absolutely can not be trusted. It will lie, and blatantly lie, to serve the interests of the militarized corporate state. We live in a media ecosystem that is enthralled by the corporate state. This is called fascism.

But the problem does not stop there.

We have entered a new era of corporate state manipulation of the media ecosystem with AI. There is the pretense that AI is based on a neutral sucking-up of data that is then stored in vast data-farms to be democratically shared with everyone. Who controls this vacuuming up of data? Who controls the algorithms that process this data? Who delivers this data to your computer?

None other than the corporation that has merged with the state to create the militarized corporate state. The corporation is amoral: it only cares about profit, and the greatest profit is in alliance with the War Machine. Silicon Valley loves war.

So, not only is corporate media entirely aligned with the militarized corporate state, but all cutting edge digital and AI technology is also aligned with the militarized corporate state.

By now, we all should have long since realized that our government and media- the vaunted “fourth estate”, have rigged the game to promote nothing other than fascism. Our so-called democracy is a petulant farce.
