Stating the obvious
Zohran Mamdani and Abdul El-Sayed illustrate that one has to have skin in the game to be politically effective in countering extreme racism and demagoguery. Nothing counts as much as sincere and honest representation of the facts by those who can cogently articulate them. And white people, even liberal white people, don’t have the mojo.
US politics is essentially selling out to corporate, neo-con and Zionist lobbying, except for those few politicians who identify the militarized corporate state as destructive of democracy. The few politicians, like Bernie Sanders and AOC, who are now anti-genocide, sat on the fence for years before changing their rhetoric. And even so, their critique of the full depravity of US politics remains tepid. Rashida Tlaib of Palestianian heritage was the only politician to openly protest the arch fascist Netanyahu’s joyous reception by Congress in July, 2024.
Noam Chomsky made the observation that the Palestinian suffers interminably for the simply reason he has no political representation. But that is slowly changing as Muslim voices gain prominence and create the possibility for a sea-change.
Republican apostates like Tucker Carlson, MTG, Thomas Massie and Joe Kent are a more significant opposition to the militarized corporate state as American Firsters than the feckless good liberal, until perhaps now with the advent of Muslim fighters for truth and justice in American politics.
We will see how sincere the good liberal proves to be in supporting truth and justice by countering the massively entrenched devotion to fascsim in Congress.
