What a deep, deep black funk.

One would think that a great empire such as the US would be a happy and prosperous empire. But think again.

The internal contradictions of the US empire are staggering. It is not an ordinary empire of great wealth percolating through and uplifting the masses, but an empire of oligarchs. Three individuals own more wealth than the poorest 50% of the nation. The American empire is a perfect fraud.

Our imperial fraud is so massively a fraud that it has no redemption. The American empire is a corporate state vampire sucking the blood of the nation and turning its citizens into zombies. We are the most successfully propagandized nation in the world. Americans actually believe they live in a representative democracy in which the public has a decisive voice.

The astonishing thing is how transparently fraudulent our national politics is on the one hand and how desperately we continue to believe in it at the same time. This is not just amazing, but weird. Deeply weird.

Americans have been conned to a degree that makes P. T. Barnum’s quip about a sucker being born every minute look like an infinite understatement: the Zionist inspired militarized corporate state fully defines our political and media culture with constant lying. In Israel, such lying is called hasbara. But in Israel, everyone knows that it is propaganda in service to the Zionist state; it is a state of mind that willingly participates in state psychosis. But here, in the US, corporate state propaganda is processed like our food to disguise the junk that it is, and which is upheld as the miracle of science dedicated to the health of all mankind.

The news about Israel in Israel is far more honest than the reporting in the US about Israel. How many Americans know that most of the carnage of Oct. 7th was the result of the IDF directive called the Hannibal Doctrine? Everyone in Israel knows what this is, but Americans have been consistently shielded by corporate state news from knowing that IDF tank and helicopter artillery fire destroyed hundreds of cars and houses holding Israelis as hostages to prevent them from being used as bargaining leverage. Most of the Israeli deaths on that day were by Israeli directive!

Hundreds of civilian and military deaths, including women and children, falsely assigned to Palestinian rage, were actually deliberately murdered by the IDF!

Israel has gone fully psychotic and can live with the IDF playing God. They have agreed to this arrangement; they are part of this arrangement; they are this arrangement. But back here in the land of the NYT, the story is that Palestinians roasted babies in microwaves. This, from the “paper of record.”

So, here in the land of imperial lying and oligarchic narcissism, the monster Lindsey Graham’s death is met with sadness by political elites, including Kamala Harris, who laments the passing of his humorous and witty good nature. Just like Obama has become best friends with Bush the Lesser, the president who presided over the worst US foreign policy disaster ever- until, that is, Genocide Joe decided to support the genocide of Gaza, ad nauseam.

What can one say about an empire that celebrates death and decay like they were joy and perfume?

The American empire is running on empty, powered by fumes that have also asphyxiated all our political and media elites. We are celebrating our very own Auschwitz-Birkenau as deadly metaphor.

The American dream is not just a nightmare; it is a deliberate and concerted effort by those who purport to represent the public but who have conspired to defraud the nation of not only good government, but all decency and righteousness.

Tell me, does this qualify as scandal?
